Description

The Israeli Quantum Computing Center (IQCC) is a cutting-edge national facility supporting quantum computing research and development for both academia and industry. The IQCC is managed and operated by Quantum Machines (QM), the global leader in quantum computing control systems. Our state-of-the-art lab includes advanced infrastructure with several dilution refrigerators and a wide array of quantum and classical devices. 

We are seeking a Lab & Operations Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role combines hands-on technical lab management with responsibility for infrastructure and operational oversight. 

Role Description and responsibilities 

Responsible for managing the daily operations of the labs, including overseeing the workflow, assisting IQCC team and external users in conducting complicated experiments, maintaining equipment and infrastructure and ensuring safety protocols. 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the lab to ensure efficient workflow and transparency 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment and/or infrastructure, arrange for repairs, and manage the lab’s maintenance schedule. 
  • Implement operational best practices and procedures and ensure the laboratory is compliant with all safety and environmental regulations. 
  • Support the IQCC team in operating and measuring superconducting quantum circuits in a dedicated lab, including mounting quantum processors into dilution fridges and setting up full experimental setups. 
  • Maintain and upgrade inventory of lab equipment and supplies 
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and facility management for service and support 
  • support computing and communication infrastructure maintenance (including data handling and security). 
  • Support visiting researchers, students, and industrial partners using the lab 


Requirements

Requirements: 

  • BSc or MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 
  • Hands-on experience in experimental lab environments 
  • Proven experience in design and development of complex experimental systems 
  • Background in cryogenics, vacuum and RF systems – big advantage  
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple technical systems and prioritize tasks 
  • Experience in cyber security and system admin – advantage 
  • Team player, excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Proactive, hands-on individual who takes initiative and shows ownership
