In the barback role, you will ensure that the bartender and other staff are able to carry out their tasks with ease. You will assist with taking and preparing orders for customers while maintaining a friendly and pleasant attitude. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your ability to support the establishment’s staff in providing high-quality service and a superior customer experience.
Barback Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares and cleans the bartender’s work station
- Ensures that the bar area is stocked with the necessary items, food, beverages, and liquor
- Familiarizes self with menu items and any changes
- Does minor repairs to bar fixtures when required
- Handles customer queries
- Takes orders, buses tables, and prepares drinks for patrons
- Escalates any major concerns to management
Barback Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must be of legal drinking age
- Customer-centric with a pleasant demeanor
- Computer literate
- Has basic math skills
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and late nights
- Food handler and liquor certifications are preferred
